Merritt’s best selling Bella Rosa won a gold medal in this competition and was one of only seven gold medals given to New York State wines. The Bella Ice also won a silver medal among only 23 others.
Lastly, the Grand Harvest Award Ceremony was held on March 2 in Healdsburg, California. The Bella Ice again won a silver medal while the Bella Rosa and Riesling each won a bronze medal. The Grand Harvest Awards are hosted by Vineyard and Winery Management Magazine, a popular trade magazine for the wine and grape industry.
“We’re very pleased to see our Bella Rosa come out of the gate strong in 2011,” said Jason Merritt, General Manager for Merritt Estate Winery. “Our Bella Rosa and Bella Ice display bottles are about to topple over in our tasting room because they have won so many medals. It is always nice to begin stacking them on new bottles,” said Merritt.
