FORESTVILLE, NY (May 2, 2011) – In an effort to provide a chic and entertaining evening for community members looking for a refined night out, two local businesses are working together to host a Winemaker’s Dinner. The event will offer an engaging atmosphere celebrating the marriage between fine dining and fine wine.

The Winemaker’s Dinner will take place on June 18 at 7pm at The Fireside Manor in Dunkirk, NY. It will feature a multi-course meal created and prepared by the restaurant and wine pairings from Merritt Estate Winery’s award winning selections.

Robin Cordovano, owner of The Fireside Manor, and locally-renowned chef Devin Jones have produced a specialty menu that will help to showcase Merritt’s wines. Similarly, the expert winery staff at Merritt Estate Winery has decided on a wine pairing list that will allow the distinct flavors of each course to shine.

The specially created menu is sure to be a palate pleaser as it guides each guest through a host of different tastes and textures. The evening will start off light with Hors d’ Oeuvres, a chilled fruit soup and a grilled shrimp salad. The main course will feature both grilled salmon and short ribs accompanied with a vegetable. The night will wrap up with a decadent chocolate dessert, sure to please everyone’s sweet tooth. The restaurant will also offer a vegetarian option specifically designed for the pairing event.

Five wine pairings will be featured throughout the evening, each showcasing a different selection from Merritt Estate Winery’s extensive wine list. A red wine, three white wines and a dessert wine will be presented with each selected course offering. The wines will vary in taste from dry to sweet and will enhance each individual’s experience.

“This event is really about two local businesses working together to produce something spectacular for the community, something that people can get excited about,” said Jason Merritt, General Manager at Merritt Estate Winery. “There are so many talented individuals and business owners throughout the area. It’s amazing to see what working together towards a common goal can produce.”

Seating for the event is limited to 90 people. Ticket price is $70 per person and includes a six course meal, wine, three keepsake imprinted wine glasses, an Hors d’ Oeuvres plate, tax and gratuity. Tickets for the event can be purchased at Merritt Estate Winery in Forestville, NY.
