Arundel Cellars Celebrates the Release of Blue Trolley Ice-style Wine at Fire & Ice on March 21
March, 13, 2015, North East, PA – Arundel Cellars & Brewing will celebrate the release of its new Blue Trolley Ice-style wine at a special Fire & Ice event on Saturday, March 21, from 2 to 5 p.m. at 11727 E. Main Road (Rt. 20), North East, PA.
Fire & Ice will showcase Carla McKrell on keyboard playing melodies from a variety of musicals including, Disney’s “Frozen.” Winery guests can enjoy free samples of Blue Trolley, purchase hot dogs and hamburgers hot off the grill, and register to win event-themed prizes.
“Ice-style wine is a super-rich dessert wine made from frozen grapes,” explains Winemaker Lauri Boettcher. “The grapes for Blue Trolley Ice-style wine grew in Trolley Line Vineyards, less than a mile away from Arundel. The grapes were carefully selected and hand-picked to assure quality from the vineyard to the bottle.
“The wine’s name gives a nod to the Buffalo and Lake Erie Traction Company trolley cars that passed by Arundel on their trip from Erie to Buffalo in the early 1900’s,” she continues. “By 1901, all the trolley rails in North East had been laid and were ready for the years of trolley traffic that were to come.”
Arundel Cellars & Brewing is a new family-run winery/brewery, headquartered in a beautifully restored 19th century barn nestled among the vineyards of scenic North East. The Arundel team has more than 100 years of combined grape-growing and wine-making experience.
