June 17, 2015, North East, PAArundel Cellars & Brewing Company  will be hosting a series of free TGIF outdoor concerts dubbed Jammin’ in July every Friday in July from 6 to 9 p.m. at 11727 E. Main Road (Rt. 20), in North East, PA. 

This is the inaugural year for Jammin’ in July, and it’s an event series we plan to continue” says Diann Graham, PR & Events Manager, Arundel Cellars & Brewing Co.  “We’re excited to add Friday evenings to the ever-expanding calendar of local free winery/brewery events.”   

Arundel Cellars & Brewing Company’s first Jammin’ in July event will be held on Friday, July 3, and feature Drunken Sailors, a husband and wife duo whose music reflects pop rock and folk influences with subtle harmonies.  “We’re all about having fun during the 4th of July weekend,“ says Jim McQuiston. “Vocals accompanied by twelve-string guitar with dynamic flute solos are guaranteed to help everyone relax in the summer sun while listening to familiar tunes.”

On Friday, July 10, the 10-piece Ruby Port Band with singer Monica Lewis will take center stage. The Ruby Port Band is the original local rock ’n roll “horn band” and boasts some of the area’s top players. Their diverse song list represents the best artists from the ‘60s and ‘70s, including: The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Chicago, and Sly and the Family Stone.

Well-known local Beatles tribute band, Abbey Road, will entertain guests on Friday, July 17.  Abbey Road consists of five very talented musicians including Bob Seaman (bass/vocals), John Puzar (guitar/vocals), Bob Walkow (lead guitar, keyboard/vocals), Tim Driscoll (drums/vocals), and Tom Laskowski (vocals and rhythm guitar).  “Our band has been together for nearly 20 years, entertaining people of all ages,” says Bob Seaman.  “We’re proud to have performed throughout the Tri-State area, appearing countless times in Erie, at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, at the Hard Rock Café in Pittsburgh, and at numerous events in New York.”  

On Friday, July 24, Bobby V’s Live Acoustic Show will take center stage. As a singer/songwriter, Bobby V is an acoustic guitarist, mixing in percussion and harmonica. He covers over 1,000 songs from the 50's to today – classic rock, blues country, reggae, blue grass, and original.  Recently voted one of the best acoustic acts in the country, Bobby splits his time between Pittsburgh, Pa., Deerfield Beach, Fl., and Nashville, Tenn.  He has done shows for all types of events: cruise ships, weddings, festivals, clubs, beaches, house parties, fund raisers, country clubs, private parties of all types, song writing circles, resorts and more.     

The finale Jammin’ in July concert is planned for Friday, July 31, and will feature South 79, a bluegrass band made up of five exceptional musicians:  Hershel Blevins, Gregg Welty, John McNaughton, Toby Hammond and Doug Young

Hershel Blevins has been singing and playing music since he was 10 years old with his family band, the Blevins Bros. Gregg Welty, who plays banjo, is 2013 and 2014 Mid-Atlantic Regional Banjo Champion.  John McNaughton, who plays bass and sings bluegrass, was raised in the Iroquoian community of the Six Nations, and has been singing bluegrass and gospel music for most of his life. Vocalist and guitarist, Toby Hammond, a Nashville recording artist, got his start playing mandolin with his brothers when he was still a child.  Doug Young, the newest member of the group, is the master brewer at the Southern Tier Brewing Company. 

Pints of craft beer, glasses of premium wine, and snacks will be available for purchase at every Jammin’ in July event.  Lawn chairs are welcome; however, no outside food or alcohol is permitted.
