Burch Farms Country Market and Wine Shop

.

Breathtaking views of Lake Erie, 262 acres, and a family tradition since 1779.

You read that right. It was 1779 when Elliot Burch first took up residency on 35 acres of land in North East, Pennsylvania. That makes the Burch clan one of the oldest families in the region, if not the country. Burch’s have been farming fruit since just after the birth of the U.S., and they are still going strong. Now in its sixth generation of operation, Burch Farms boasts a productive fruit farm specializing in grapes, apples and peaches; a state-of-the-art bakery; a large farm market featuring their own produce; a unique gift shop; and, since the spring of 2009, a boutique winery specializing in fruit wines.

To Tim Burch, co-owner and manager of Burch Farms, the addition of the Wine Shop made monumental sense. The fruit he and his family work so hard to grow now takes on a whole other life as it is harvested, squeezed, aged, and bottled to become Burch’s award-winning wine. The Wine Shop is open year-round for tours and tasting.

Burch Farms means family, and the Burch’s offer dozens of family-friendly events throughout the year. Call the Farm Market for information on, among other things, their all-you-can-eat pancake breakfasts, Easter egg hunt, sleigh rides, peachie days, strawberry festivals and girls’ nights out.
