A Mediterranean-style winery, distillery and café near the gates of the Chautauqua Institution.

Building on the success of Mazza Vineyards, the Mazza family opened their Chautauqua location in 2005. Constructed in Mazza’s signature Mediterranean style, the structure features geo-thermal heating and cooling, energy-efficient lighting and recycled building materials. The modern building stands in juxtaposition with classic European style and old-world wine making skills. The eco-friendly building may be “green,” but Mazza’s wine-making techniques are well matured. The Mazza’s have been making wine in the region for almost 40 years.

 Mazza Chautauqua Cellars is also Western New York’s only distillery, featuring Mazza’s “Eau de Vie,” which is French for ‘water of life.’ While brandy most commonly is derived from grapes, the Eau de Vie at Mazza’s is produced using four fruits: pear, apple, cherry and plum. Also distilled on the premises is their popular Grappa, produced from grape pomace, along with other spirits used for port (or “Forte”) and cream sherry.
