One of the first wineries in Pennsylvania, Penn Shore continues to produce exquisite wines and provides plenty of summer entertainment.

Located on picturesque route 5, only a few hundred yards from Lake Erie, Penn Shore Vineyards offers award-winning wines, free tours and a gorgeous gift shop. During the summer, they sponsor their “Music in the Vineyards” series, bringing in top regional musicians to entertain visitors who sit outside surrounded by vineyards as they enjoy wine, music and our exquisite Lake Erie sunsets.

When Jeff and Cheryl Ore purchased Penn Shore Vineyards in 2004, they bought a little piece of Pennsylvania history. Penn Shore was one of two wineries to receive the first limited winery licenses issued by the state in 1969. The winery has changed hands a couple of times since then, but it now thrives under the Ore’s leadership. Jeff had spent 20 years in corporate management when he decided to follow his heart and purchase the winery. The Ore’s thoroughly enjoy living amongst the vineyards. They are true wine enthusiasts, and love sharing it with the many visitors who walk through their doors.

Jeff is also Penn Shore’s winemaker, and he delights in every painstaking step required to make high-quality wine. Their sparkling wine is made the good old-fashioned way, by storing the wine on a riddling rack and nurturing it for more than six months. Jeff and Cheryl love being in the wine business. To them, life is good in Lake Erie Wine Country, and their feelings are evident to thousands of yearly guests who enjoy the friendly atmosphere and great wine at Penn Shore Vineyards.
